Here at the Malvern Canine Hydrotherapy Centre we have a top of the range HYDRO PHYSIO water treadmill. It is larger than most standard treadmills on the market, allowing plenty of room for the therapist to be in the treadmill with patients to give assistance. This also gives more confidence to the dogs in their initial sessions. The water height, speed and incline can all be adjusted so an individual programme can be made for each case.

The HYDRO PHYSIO water treadmill has a multitude of uses, including rehabilitation, well-being and fitness training. An ideal environment to utilise the properties of water, offering an extremely effective hydrotherapy setting for patient care and treatment. Exercise in water is proven to be an effective method to gain faster results.

We also have a large heated 6m x 3m bespoke hydrotherapy pool which is also very beneficial in rehabilitation and maintenance but is also a fantastic form of exercise for show, working and performance dogs. This allowing dogs to swim in a safe, clean environment.

We are situated in Leigh Sinton which is just on the outskirts of Malvern. See the map below for the exact location.

A Little Bit About Me...

My name is Emma Surridge. I first trained as a small animal hydrotherapist in 2010 after my cocker spaniel Rosie suffered a disc herniation in her lumbar spinal region. After complicated surgery, Rosie needed extra care and therapy to get her back up to normal strength and fitness. I was recommended hydrotherapy for her, and the improvement was incredible. This made me decide to give up my Equine career and concentrate on canine hydrotherapy. After training I worked at a hydrotherapy centre to gain more hands on knowledge and confidence. I then decided to open my own centre in Stroud, Gloucestershire, which soon became a well established and successful centre.

However, during this time I relocated to the Malvern area and travelled daily to Stroud. This commute over 5 years became tiring, so I decided to make the sad decision to sell up and open a business closer to home, previously being based at Masefield Veterinary Centre, Malvern. After 6 years I made the sad but exciting decision to expand to bigger premises.

I am a fully accredited member of the National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (NARCH), that ensures the centre and staff are trained in all aspects of hydrotherapy, first aid and water management. In addition, the association monitors and ensures all members abide by quality standards so that referring vets, owners and their dogs receive a professional, caring service.

I hold many certificates in hydrotherapy and each year I have to complete many hours of CPD (Continued Professional Development) thus ensuring I will always be up to date with all new techniques and treatments.

Being a registered canine hydrotherapist, the majority of pet insurance providers will cover a course in hydrotherapy. Please check with your provider or give me a call to discuss.
